Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2: Story 34: Journey to the Bracca Badlands

What is it ? : The Young Jedi are making a delivery of scrap to Bracca, and their friend, Eren Kitt, M1-M1 and the Pikpik. When they arrive, Eren tells them that the Pikpik have gone to scavenge a ship in the badlands, so they set off on her speeder to find them.
As they enter the badlands, Eren explains that the badlands are home to dangerous Dianoga, and as they cross a lake, they are attacked, a large Dianoga grabs their speeder, while smaller ones surround them, but M1-M1 shocks the larger one allowing them to escape.
They arrive at the wreck the Pikpik were going to scavenge, and find they've been taken captive by Fleever and Jaay, a couple of pirates. They are using the Pikpik to scavenge the ship, especially it's nav computer which will allow them to find even more planets to raid.
They try to free the Pikpik, but the pirates have battle droids which hold them off, and the Young Jedi accidentally cause the Dianoga to attack, which causes the pirates and their captives to leave with their cargo, while the Young Jedi are pinned down by the Dianoga.
The Young Jedi use the force to distract the Dianoga while they escape and chase the pirates, who are loading their ship and have put the Pikpik in a holding area. The droids hold off the Young Jedi, but they attract the Dianoga to take care of the droids, while they free the Pikpik, and M1-M1 shocks the pirates, allowing them all to escape.
Back at Eren's camp, she picks over the scrap they brought, and the Young Jedi invite them to Tenoo to see Marlaa Jinara's scrapyard. . . .

High Points : A nice little episode, with the Young Jedi using their environment against an opponent. While I remembered Eren, I'd kind of forgotten about the Pikpik, and the pirates Fleever and Jaay. But it was good to see them being used, instead of it just being the Ganguls or Taborr once again.

Low Points : I'm not the biggest fan of the cutesy Dianoga, especially introducing them as a family, which I really didn't feel I needed to know the family structure of Dianogas. And the Dianoga themselves at first are a threat to the Young Jedi, but then later destroy the battle droids, who admittedly drawn attention to themselves by shooting at the Dianoga, but ignore the Young Jedi.

So what do you really think ? : It was a fun enough episode, although I didn't find anything new or exciting within it, it's interesting to see Bracca, the starting point for the game Fallen Order, at a much earlier point in it's timeline, and that it's always been a scrap world where people dumped their trash.

Final Words : And the moral of this episode . . . well I don't think it really has one. Don't take people slaves? Don't take giant monsters for granted? This episode seems to be moral free.

Score : 7/10
