Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2: Story 42: The Battle of Tenoo

What is it ? : Another double length story, so requiring the full run time of the episode, instead of it being 2 stories. The Young Jedi are training in the courtyard at Tenoo, refusing to give up and eventually reaching the peak of the training tower and succeeding much to the congratulations of their peers. They are being taught by Wes Vinik, as the full Jedi are away on a mission.
In space the Rathtars Revenge, the ship of the Gangul Gang, meets with a bunch of other ships, including the Terror of Tenoo (the ship of Captain Blackbolt). They have decided to all work together to remove the Jedi from Tenoo, which will stop their interference in the entire Sector. Sellaccc contacts Taborr Val Dorrn to offer him one last invite him to join them, but he refuses.
As the Young Jedi continue to train, the Rathars Revenge arrives overhead, and shuttles land pirates which attack the younglings and Wes. A fight breaks out, but the younglings are overwhelmed, so Wes orders a retreat and Kai tells him he knows of a hiding place.
They arrive at Tanglevine Base, which was once used by Kaliah Kublop, and they set up a heater. Wes tries to use his commlink to call for aid, but it's jammed. But Nash spots a larger system, but it malfunctions, so she takes some time to repair it.
Meanwhile at the Temple, Sellaccc is annoyed they've captured the building but not the Jedi, so orders a new plan which will destroy the temple, giving the Jedi nothing to return to.
Nash repairs the communications system, but tells them that she has only managed to get it to do a general broadcast, so the pirates will be able to hear it as well and locate them. So Kai sends out a broadcast to anyone who can hear them asking for help.
The Pirates locate the Jedi from the broadcast and capture them, locking them in a cell on the Rathtars Revenge. Kai is down because they've been captured, but is reminded that Jedi never give up, when suddenly a vessel lands in the hangar, and Celesta Kami and Princess Inaya release them from their cell telling them that they heard the distress call so came to their aid.
As they board Inaya's ship, they spot other vessels having come to their aid, including Ace Callisto, Raxlo, and the Crimson Firehawk manned by Nash's mothers.
They land to take on Sellaccc and the other pirates, and find that Selaccc's plan was to plant explosives in the Jedi Temple, so the group of younglings begin deactivating all the explosives, while Nubs and Lys attempt to retrieve all their lightsabers. they chase down Toda-Joh who is carrying the box containing them.
Nubs grabs the box, while Lys smashes Toda into a wall using the force, they rearm all the Jedi and the fight begins to turn against the pirates, and the explosives all get disarmed. So Sellaccc orders the Rathtars Revenge to use it's grapple hooks to tear down the temple instead.
None of the heroes can get close enough to stop it, but The Iron Talon arrives with Taborr, and blasts the cables on the grapple hooks. This opens the Rathtars Revenge to attack and he strafes the engines, as does Wes Vinik and the Crimson Firehawk, which causes the Rathtars Revenge to crash into the jungle of Tenoo.
Sellaccc turns on Kai and disarms him, ready to strike a killing blow, but is stopped as Master Zanna and Master Drow arrive and capture the pirates.
The Young Jedi go and thank Taborr, but he says he only did it to take down the Ganguls to protect his home world and become the best pirate in the sector again. But they leave on better terms, and the Young Jedi watch as droids repair the cracks the grapples caused in the outside of the temple.

High Points : So a strength I've always mentioned in Young Jedi Adventures was the world building, where they bring back characters time and again. And this episode is the absolute apex of this, with all the pirates the Young Jedi have fought all teaming up (except Emmett and his gang), and all the friends that the Young Jedi have made coming to their aid at the end. It succeeds in making all their adventures feel like they had a meaning, those people they helped over the two seasons, coming back and returning that aid.

Low Points : Now, I'm not sure what Sellaccc thinks is going to happen when she captures or kills a large bunch of Jedi Younglings, especially when she operates from a known single location. Because even though at this point, the Jedi are pretty busy fighting the Drengir (or maybe the start of the Nihil), I'm pretty sure they could spare a couple of dozen Jedi for a few days to punish him severely for his actions. That said, the idea of driving them from the Temple, then destroying it, does make some sense, even though that wasn't really her plan.

So what do you really think ? : A pretty fun episode, bringing back so many characters, bringing back the discovery of Tanglevine Base to be a useful place to hide out (although doesn't Captain Blackbolt know where it is?).
It does however, kind of feel like a final episode, which makes me wonder with the truncated final season, did they think the show was ending here?

Final Words : And the moral of this one, Jedi never give up.

Score : 8/10

I agree this would have been a series finale. Had they added a follow-up at the end with the kids grown up, like they did in the real finale, so much the better.
